Even though I have a personal folder not published here, I do not see why this would be extremely personal.
Inspired from: Eilleen’s (online!) Everything Notebook
October
- Read Carmilla with A
- Got into the idea of digital-minimalism. Awesome book, and the video that started all
- Introduced restrictions for my browser using StayFocusd and ScreenZen on my phone
- Decided to organize my Obsidian notes better, hence this website
- Nice progress for my thesis, finally set it up from the ground with the automatic deployments to Coolify
- Crazy uni workload, especially certain labs that feel like Hackathons. Midterms as well.
- Began the recording of an audiobook for A (with this setup)
- Shag haircut… Why are all hairdressers here not versed in “alternative” hairstyles…
- Got into Wordle again
- Gym less than 5 times this month… Tough…
- Halloween uni party at the beginning of the month. I’m not drinking cognac any time soon.
- Hang out with my friends >.<
- Downloaded MusicBox to keep track of the albums I want to listen. “I would like to make music a more intentional practice and listen to albums fully and so on. In this app I add albums I want to listen directly from Apple Music, and I can mark them as played, add notes, tags etc”
- Lots of new tools to test out, like syncthing, keepass
- Started this back-end series
Reflections
- I compare myself a lot. I am an active participant in the burnout society Zen-buddhism-byung-chul-han
- I need to be a better daughter and sister…
- Thinking of what I want to do after graduation. I could do a masters in a neighbouring country, or continue working to save money.
November
- Visited Bucharest with friends - could be a city I might move to next year :)
- Finished Burnout-society. Great read, many reflections on this topic.
- Lots of thinking this month about attention, “optimization”, in tandem with everything I’ve been reading.
- Intense labs like always… I’m still convinced disributed systems is something I’d like to know deeper.
- Launched some platforms for my freelancer gig this month. Has been quite stressful, but worthfile hopefully. Had to use some new tools and lots of communication with other people occured. Bottom line: need people to communicate better in general when working like this, with teams from different companies.
- Gym only once, RIP… Kind of put off by the idea of going now, with everything I have to do. Secondly, I’d feel down going back and not seeing “progress”. The last time I went was very frustrating.
- Some shadow work on personal/intimate topics…
