As a German word, Dasein means existence.
Heidegger adapted Dasein to mean Being, the form of existence of the human individual.
The individual is living in the mode of “uncovering” the world.
Opposed to the cartesian thought, where we have the body/mind dualism, and the individual is a mere thinking subject.
